My name is Sue and I have been working with children for over 20 years.  I attended the University of Wisconsin - Stout and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education, with a minor in Psychology.  I worked for one year in a Parent Co-op Preschool, and then 7 years as lead teacher in a Child Care Center.  When my first child was born in 1986, I decided to do child care in my home.  I have 2 wonderful children, Kelly, is 19 and Jesse is 15. We live in Byron MN.

I have a C2 license which allows me to care for up to 12 children.  This means that of the 12 children, at least 10 may be under school age and no more than 2 can be infants and toddlers.

I enjoy meeting other providers.  For the last 5 year I have been an active trainer for other providers on many topics relating to Child Care.  I am also a Family Child Care Mentor. I enjoy sharing my experiences and teaching new providers the "tricks of the trade".  I attend over 40 hours of training classes each year - one can never know too much.  I am active in our local Family Child Care organization, Family Child Care Inc. and in 1999 I was chosen by them to be the Professional Provider for Olmsted County.  In 2005 I was chosen to become a SEEDS of Early Literacy Trainer.  Literacy has always been a passion for me and to teach other providers how to make their child cares more literacy rich is a very rewarding to me.
